Stardew Valley creator 'ConcernedApe' has shared a preview for the upcoming Stardew Valley 1.6 update.

Back in April of this year, we reported that Eric Barone is actively working on a new free patch for his game. Although no major details were shared, Barone, who goes by the name 'ConcernedApe', did reveal that the update will likely be appreciated by modders. "There is going to be a Stardew 1.6 update", Barone wrote in April of this year. "It's mostly changes for modders (which will make it easier & more powerful to mod). But there is also new game content, albeit much less than 1.5. I'm taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on this at the moment. Then back to [Haunted Chocolatier]."

Several months later, Barone revealed that the Stardew Valley 1.6 update would include a new festival, additional dialogues, items, and "secrets". Fast forward two months and Barone has now shared a preview of the upcoming update, which is still in development and has no release date just yet. As shared by the creator, the 1.6 update for the game will include a new major festival as well as two new mini-festivals, new late-game content, new items, crafting recipes, a new farm type, villager winter outfits, support for 8-player multiplayer on PC, new secrets and more.

Quite the update for Stardew Valley and it's really great to see that Barone is still actively supporting his seven-year-old game with free new content. We can only applaud this kind of effort.

Stardew Valley is available globally now across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android platforms.
