[UPDATE - May 4, 2026] Fuse Games and Secret Mode have now confirmed that Star Wars Galactic Racer is indeed set for an October 6 launch on the market. For more info on all the available editions, click on this link.
[ORIGINAL STORY] We may have learned the planned launch date for Star Wars Galactic Racer, the upcoming racing game in development at Fuse Games, with Secret Mode set to publish.
The "leak" comes from the game's own Steam page, which was briefly updated with the October 6, 2026 release date. The page also included pre-order and edition details: All pre-orders include a platform-exclusive livery (with distinct variants for PS5, Xbox, and PC) and a player banner, with the livery applicable to all speeder classes.
The Digital Deluxe Edition adds a digital art book, three exclusive repulsorcraft, a Deluxe Livery (also applicable to all speeders), three unique Arcade Events, and a Deluxe Player Banner, in addition to the standard pre-order bonuses. Physical purchases of the Deluxe Edition also include a steelbook with sleeve, which is not available digitally.
This info was quickly removed from the Steam listing because it likely went live earlier than anticipated. Still, it's probably correct and will be communicated officially at a later time.
Star Wars Galactic Racer is set in the New Republic Era, after the fall of the Empire. With the galaxy rebuilding, an obsession with speed takes hold, and out of the lawless Outer Rim emerges the Galactic League: an underground, unsanctioned racing circuit where syndicates sponsor pilots and fortunes are won and lost in seconds.
The single player campaign follows the Galactic League, founded by Darius Pax. Pax then seeks help from Shade, a mysterious loner among the racers with a personal grudge against the Bool family, to overthrow Kestar and regain control of the competition he created. The developers describe the campaign as a "Racing Adventure," meaning there are also elements off the track that can be explored in third-person between races.
The selectable vehicle classes include podracers, landspeeders, speeder bikes, and a new vehicle class introduced to the Star Wars universe with the game, the skimspeeder. Each class has distinct physics and playstyles, and vehicle building and customization are core gameplay elements.
The game features multiple tracks across several Star Wars planets, including Hoth, Endor, Tatooine, Lantaana, Jakku, Ando Prime, and Sentinel One. According to the developers, there is no single ideal racing line on the tracks, leaving players with the ability to improvise.
The game features racers from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, such as Ben Quadinaros and Sebulba. The latter is notably older now, sporting a beard according to the developers.
Beyond the campaign, Star Wars Galactic Racer also includes Arcade and PvP multiplayer modes. The Arcade mode includes time trials and races with varied objectives. In the online multiplayer mode, up to 12 players can participate in a race, and a ranking system is planned.
When asked about seasons, Fuse Games CEO Matt Webster bluntly said "No", describing the game as a premium release and adding that, in his mind, season passes are associated with free-to-play games.
