Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 becomes the fastest smartphone chipset on AnTuTu

Qualcomm is yet to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, but the Dimensity 9400 will likely provide the chipset with some tough competition, as MediaTek’s flagship SoC was previously leaked to become the first smartphone chipset to cross a score of 3 million in AnTuTu, while also making it the fastest in this specific benchmark. Unfortunately, those bragging rights were short-lived because, according to the latest leak, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 not only becomes the second smartphone silicon to surpass a score of 3 million, it ends up beating its closest rival and experiencing close to zero competition from the A18 Pro.

AnTuTu becomes the second benchmark in which the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 holds the highest score

Realme, a former sub-brand of OPPO, will eventually launch the GT 7 Pro flagship in the coming weeks, making it one of the flagships to sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The benchmark leak was posted by Smartprix, which collaborated with notable leakster OnLeaks to bring forth these scores. For some reason, the leak refers to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 as the Snapdragon 8 Elite, so perhaps they are aware of something that we might have missed before the official announcement kicks off.

Regardless, coming to the scores, the Realme GT 7 Pro obtained 3,025,991 points, while the Dimensity 9400 mentioned above that was benchmarked in the Vivo X200 Pro was slightly slower at 3,007,853 points, making the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 the winner by a respectable margin. Compared to the A18 Pro running in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, there was no competition in this regard because Apple’s newest SoC obtained a measly 1,651,728 score.

However, it is important to note that AnTuTu gives preference to Android smartphone chipsets for some reason, which is why it is crucial to run more benchmarks to get a clearer picture of the silicon’s capabilities. The individual scores are not present in the image below, making it difficult to conclude which area of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 made the most difference in the benchmark. For the Dimensity 9400, the GPU test made up 44 percent of the total, highlighting a major upgrade in the form of the ARM Immortalis-G925.

With just a few days remaining for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to be officially announced, we will come across a flurry of benchmarks, with most flagships likely to be tested using AnTuTu, so we should provide you with more updates. Also, for those interested, Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship SoC also obtained the highest score in Geekbench 6’s multi-core results, with the OnePlus 13 crossing 10,000 points.
