The new PSU hub will be convenient for enthusiasts and modders who want fine-grained control over multiple PSUs without complex wiring.
Singularity Computers Debut PSU Penta-Node for Controlling Several PSUs From a Single Central System
As far as we can check, there are only Dual-PSU adapters that allow two PSUs to power a single system. However, the latest PSU hub by Singularity Computers is probably the first one to add more than two power supply units to a single system. This Australian cooler maker has introduced a PSU hub called "Penta-Node" that allows connecting multiple power supply units to the main power supply for a single system.
The PSU Penta Node is an accessory that can support 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 power supply units that will be connected to a main power supply. The five connectors can be populated according to the needs, and users will be able to control all of them together or individually. The Penta-Node PCB is small and offers a switch for each power supply connector. With each of these switches, users can individually turn the power supplies on or off.
There are two switch modes available: The Auto Mode and the On Mode. The former will turn on all the connected PSUs automatically when the main system is turned on, while the On Mode allows individual control. Due to this flexibility, users can power on a single PSU, use additional PSUs for standby power, or activate all the PSUs together for testing. This will be convenient for extreme overclocking setups to overcome power constraints.
The hub offers LED light indicators to indicate the status of each PSU and whether they are in the standby mode or actively running. The Penta Node uses a single PWM connector that sends the signal from the main PSU to automatically turn on the connected PSUs when the system turns on. All in all, this is a niche hardware control tool, meant for test benches, and won't cater to the demands of the masses.
