The game is an exclusive for PS3. Yakuza 5 will be the fifth main entry in the Yakuza franchise. The game is set to hit the shelves in Japan, this December, later this year. Yakuza 5 will also be featuring a new graphics engine. This is for the first time that a new engine will be used. All the previous installments were built using the same engine that was utilized by Yakuza 3. Check out the screen shots below;
For the first time in Yakuza franchise, the game will feature five distinct cities throughout Japan. Kamuro City from previous games will be making a return once again. The four new cities are Soutenbori, a part of fictional Osaka, Nagasugai, which is a part of fictional Fukuoka, Tsukimino, part of the fictional Sapporo and Kineicho, part of the fictional Nagoya.
Being a huge fan of Yakuza franchise, I was highly disappointed by Yakuza: Dead Souls. Here's to hoping that Yakuza 5 covers for all the disappointment. I'm pretty sure it won't be disappointing.
