Seasonic shows off its PSU innovations with the new OptiSink design, up to 3200W PRIME units, and safer 16-pin "12V-2x6" connectors.

Seasonic Improves Both PSU & Connector Designs With OptiSink & "Wing Studio" 16-Pin 12V-2x6 Power Cables

Seasonic's flagship offering this year will be its PRIME PX-3200, which is equipped with the latest ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards. This massive E-ATX design measures 210x150x86mm and features all the latest protection capabilities such as OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP, and OTP. This is rated at 3200 Watts and features six 16-pin connectors, all of them being the latest 12V-2x6 cable design.

Some of the primary highlights of the PRIME 3200W include:

Seasonic is also introducing its new PSU innovations, such as OptiSink 2.0, which will further improve the quality and thermal functioning of the PSU. The new design aims to improve heat conduction efficiency, reduce the density of the heatsink to create more space for heat dissipation, and improve airflow performance. The new design is claimed to improve overall heat conduction by up to 30%, adding to Seasonic's continued innovations in the PSU segment.

With the new OptiSink 2.0 design, Seasonic has implemented automated surface mount technology on the new PCB layout, along with the use of smaller MOSFETS and heatsink, which help increase the internal space within the PSU. These enhancements improve airflow and make the Focus / Core series more efficient and enhancing their overall build quality and reliability.

Lastly, Seasonic is collaborating with well-known Chinese hardware reviewer, King of Wing, on a new and improved 16-pin "12V-2x6" connector cable which provides:

This upgraded cable can be really beneficial for those who are running high-end RTX 40 or RTX 50 series GPUs, which rely heavily on 16-pin connectors, and we have seen multiple cases of cables either burning up or melting. We can expect to see these innovations from Seasonic in its latest lineups very soon.
