iPhone 14 Pro Max Has the Best Display on a Smartphone, Says DisplayMate, Beating Previous Title Holder, the iPhone 13 Pro Max

When discussing OLED smartphone panels, Samsung Display is the best offering. Not only is Samsung using the same panels for its high-end Galaxy phones and some of the A series phones, the panels are also supplied to other companies, with Apple being one of the biggest companies to order from Samsung Display. However, have you ever wondered just why everyone decides to stick to the South Korean firm despite there being cheaper alternatives available in the market?

Samsung Displays are not only energy efficient but also manage to deliver the best viewing experience, accurate colors, and brightness

Tipster Tech_Reve, shared a table showing the luminous efficiency of different OLED panels that are found in some high-end smartphones in the market. Though the table does not show an iPhone or a Galaxy device, it is no surprise that those devices use Samsung panels. The table has two Huawei devices, a Xiaomi and a Vivo device. Out of the four devices, two are using BOE panels while the other two are using Samsung Display panels, and well, you can see the results below:

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra and the Vivo X90 Pro+ are powered by Samsung Display's E5 and E6 panels, respectively, and both have significantly better luminous efficiency. While the numbers might not matter to some, having better efficiency would lead to lower power consumption and, therefore, better overall battery timing.

Samsung has been supplying OLED panels to Apple and other companies for some time now. In fact, it is one of the biggest suppliers of OLED for Apple. Not just that, the display found in the iPhone 14 Pro is also by Samsung, which, in many ways, is better than what the company is using in its own phones. Testing phone displays is not at all an easy job; however, the luminous efficiency of these panels tells just one part of the story. Samsung displays have been excellent in almost every single aspect. As a matter of fact, the Galaxy S23 Ultra did just win a gold award in DXOMark's display testing, as well.

Do you think luminous efficiency and other technical details of an OLED panel matter in day to day use of a smartphone? Let us know what your thoughts are.
