Samsung Launches G75F in Malaysia for $1000; 4K Resolution, 1ms Response Time, and up to 165Hz of Refresh Rate for Enthusiasts
34-inch ultrawide gaming monitors are pretty popular for immersive gaming, but Samsung launched a regular 16:9 ratio monitor with a 37-inch screen size. The new offering, called G75F, belongs to the Odyssey G7 series and is Samsung's first such monitor, which offers excellent features for immersive gaming.
This monitor brings a 1000R deep curvature that wraps around your field of view naturally to offer a wonderful gaming experience. With 4K resolution, you will see rich details on the display and smoother visuals since it can run at up to a 165 Hz refresh rate. The monitor seems to be equipped with TCL CSOT's latest HVA panel, which offers up to 5000:1 contrast ratio.
Nonetheless, 3000:1 is standard on most VA panels and offers deeper blacks than IPS displays. It's also going to be highly responsive due to just 1ms GtG response time and will allow a competitive gaming experience too. The G75F has an all-black exterior with a minimalistic design and a strong base to prevent it from wobbling. At the back of the monitor, you will find the display and USB output ports for connectivity, including DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.1.
The monitor is currently listed on Samsung's official website in Malaysia for 4,399 RM, which translates to around US$1,028. So, it's one of the most expensive VA monitors yet, since a lot of premium OLED displays can be purchased for even lower, bringing sizes as high as 39 inches with an UltraWide form-factor.
The monitor page reveals detailed specifications, and we can see that it doesn't offer competitive specs for its price tag. There is FreeSync Premium Pro support, but no G-syn,c and there is no USB Type-C port with PD as well. Fortunately, at least the stand is ergonomic, offering various adjustments like height, tilt, and swivel.
