At today's Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled a wide array of devices, among which the foldable series has been getting quite the hype. Much has been speculated about the Z Flip 6 model, especially with AI advancement coming to it. With the device finally being released, the specifications seem to match all the previous reports, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 comes with some major upgrades from its predecessors.
Galaxy Z Flip 6 finally arrives with a larger cover screen, advanced 50MP main camera, and 12GB of RAM storage
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 secured its position firmly in the market and stayed popular among consumers for quite a while. It is one of the reasons why tech enthusiasts and users were eagerly waiting for the launch of the next generation of foldables. Well, the wait is finally over, as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is finally here, with promising upgrades and a powerful processor. Although the design does not vary much from the Flip 5, the new Flip 6 measures 165.0 x 71.7 x 7.4mm.
As expected, the Z Flip 6 sports a 6.7-inch FHD+Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display and a 3.4-inch cover screen similar to its predecessor. The main display has a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring a smoother transition and reducing motion blur when viewing content. The main camera sensor is also getting a long-awaited upgrade, moving to a 50MP primary camera with Pro Visual Engine that captures more details. The ultra-wide camera remains the same as the predecessor, at 12MP. The series did not get a dedicated telephoto camera this time around, either.
The Z Flip 6's AI-powered capabilities include upgrading FlexCam with its auto-zoom feature, which helps adjust the zoom automatically, frame the subject more accurately, and improve the overall composition of the visuals. Samsung additionally added a real-time translation feature to the foldable with a wide range of language options.
The new Flip phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is a powerful processor for the Flip series yet, and has a battery capacity of 4,000mAh. The RAM storage space was also upgraded, as the model has 12GB of RAM, a jump from the Flip 5, which boasted 8GB of RAM. It is available in four color options: Silver Shadow, Blue, Yellow, and Mint, and the series is sticking to pastels for the new Z Flip 6. Some exclusive colors are reserved for Samsung.com, including Crafted Black, Peach, and White.
Although the Flip 6 is priced a little higher this time, $100 more than the cost for the previous model, the advanced AI features coming to the series might make it worth the price hike for users.
