Galaxy Tab S10 Plus, Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra Could Be The Only Models Offered From Samsung’s Upcoming Flagship Tablet Range; Base Model May Get Phased Out

Samsung might only introduce the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra

For the past few generations, Samsung has always introduced three new models of its flagship tablet series, but the company could take a different route with its upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 lineup. Instead of launching three models, the Korean giant could discontinue the base model, proceeding with just the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. It is possible that the smaller slate was never that popular amongst consumers, and with Apple’s newest M4 OLED iPad Pro lineup consisting of two models, Samsung would compete on an even playing field.

Samsung could pursue a cost-effective launch strategy with the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, with one model expected to feature a MediaTek SoC

Looking at the renders of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, it is safe to assume that Samsung would not bring any grand redesign to the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus either. On top of that, a report from Korea states that the base model will not launch alongside the two premium slates, signaling a change in Samsung’s sales strategy. Compared to Apple, its rival might be the second biggest tablet maker in the world, but the market share disparity between the two companies suggests that these entities might as well belong in different realms.

Also, with Apple having introduced superior display technology to the M4 iPad Pro series called Tandem OLED, Samsung is probably aware that it no longer has any bragging rights to market how its panels function, so it could seek other marketing alternatives with the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. We previously reported a rumor claiming that the smaller model would be treated to MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+, as Qualcomm’s gradual chipset price increases no longer make it viable for Samsung to use in all versions.

Bear in mind that the Dimensity 9300+ and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 do not pose a sliver of a threat to the M4 in terms of raw performance and efficiency, but Samsung could be banking on the larger 12.4-inch and 14.6-inch displays, coupled with the Android platform to appease to the masses. There is no launch date or pricing data in sight, but if there are any updates coming in our direction, we will relay that information to our readers, so stay tuned.
