Those eagerly anticipating Resident Evil Requiem and Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be able to try out both games before launch in a couple of months during this year's edition of Gamescom.
Earlier today, CAPCOM confirmed that the new entries in the two classic franchises will both be playable during this year's edition of Gamescom, which takes place from August 20th to August 24th in Cologne, Germany, with over 85 playable demo stations across over 950 square meters. Resident Evil Requiem and Onimusha: Way of the Sword won't be the only games the publisher will bring to the show, so there's a chance that the third game shown by CAPCOM last week, Pragmata, will also be playable during Gamescom 2025.
While the latest Onimusha: Way of the Sword showing was solid and made me considerably more excited about the game, there's no doubt that most players were happier to see Resident Evil Requiem. The game's reveal trailer, which was shared at the end of this year's Summer Game Fest show, did not answer many questions about the game, but it did show one of the main characters, Grace, and somewhat confirmed that Raccoon City will play an important role in the game's events.
Resident Evil Requiem launches on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on February 27th, 2026, while Onimusha: Way of the Sword is currently scheduled for a generic 2026 release on PC and consoles.
