Realme Crammed In A 15,000mAh Battery In One Of Its Concept Phones, While Making It Only 7 Percent Thicker Than An iPhone 16 Pro Max

Realme has announced a concept smartphone with a 15,000mAh battery

The age of silicon-carbon batteries has given phone makers tremendous flexibility when it comes to equipping their devices with larger cells to deliver that record runtime that traditional lithium-ion technology cannot deliver. However, companies like Realme are truly testing the boundaries of these upgrades, as it has announced a concept smartphone that houses a massive 15,000mAh battery. Naturally, the immediate response to hearing about a cell of this size, you would assume that the handset in question sports a beefy chassis, but the company has done the exact opposite on this occasion.

With the 15,000mAh battery, Realme claims that its concept smartphone can push 50 hours of video playback, while being just 8.89mm thick

It is doubtful that Realme will put this device into mass production, but if the company strongly believes that there is a market for something that houses a gargantuan 15,000mAh battery, we could see it in the near future, but with some changes. This model is only expected to be targeted to the mid-range segment because it is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300, along with 12GB of RAM, and a 6.7-inch OLED.

The device’s biggest selling point is obviously the battery capacity, with Realme claiming that users can get 18 hours of continuous video capture in silent mode, 50 hours of video playback, and five days of daily usage. There are two rear cameras at the back, but their specifications are unknown.

However, looking at the remaining hardware belonging to Realme’s 15,000mAh smartphone, we would have to guess that the sensors will not be top-notch. At the back of the handset, the company really wants the audience to know that its concept sports a massive cell. As mentioned above, if Realme believes that the market has a place for something like this, it could refine the design while incorporating it with better internals.

The Dimensity 7300 is incapable of delivering that ‘flagship’ experience, so even if Realme were to water down that battery capacity in exchange for better internals, the majority of us can agree that it would be a step in the right direction. For now, if the company’s actual goal was to get as many eyeballs on its concept product as possible for a brief period, then it has succeeded.
