Silicon-carbon battery technology has enabled smartphone manufacturers, particularly those of Chinese origin, to add massive capacities to their devices without unnecessarily compromising on the thickness. Leveraging this upgrade, witnessing flagships or even mid-rangers with a 6,000mAh cell and above became more common than ever this year. However, Realme has decided to take it one step further by introducing a concept smartphone called the GT 10,000mAh, and assuming you have not already guessed, it sports a 10,000mAh battery. The only question that remains is whether this handset will get an official launch.

The remaining specifications of the Realme GT 10,000mAh are nothing out of the ordinary, with the smartphone sporting a less capable MediaTek Dimensity 7300

When perusing the specifications, it appears that Realme invested all of its resources on the battery side of things, as the GT 10,000mAh concept employs a silicon-content anode cell that comprises of a 10 percent silicon ratio and an energy density of 887Wh/L. Despite this advancement, the company states that the major upgrade will not be an encumbrance, because the device measures just 8.5mm and weighs in at 210 grams. If this model went into mass production, it could last for days without needing to be topped up.

Unfortunately, the other internals are disappointing, with Realme sticking with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, with an undisclosed amount of RAM and storage. The display is a 6.7-inch quad-curved OLED, with the former OPPO sub-brand claiming that the motherboard needed to be redesigned to incorporate the larger battery. There is no confirmation if Realme intends to mass produce the GT 10,000mAh, but a smartphone with the aforementioned specifications would do considerably well in a market like India.

If the company can revisit the other specifications with the intention of making the GT 10,000mAh slightly more capable, there is a possibility that Realme can offer this model in more markets. We will know soon enough if an official launch happens in the future, so stay tuned for more updates.
