Ready at Dawn Hiring & Working On Multiple, Exciting Projects

Californian developer Ready at Dawn finally went big with the release of The Order: 1886. Launched exclusively on PlayStation 4 earlier this year, this was their first AAA game after a history of titles for portable consoles (Daxter, God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War: Ghost of Sparta for the PlayStation Portable).

The Order: 1886 went on to receive a mixed reception from critics and gamers alike, proving to be highly divisive. While the praise for its graphics was unanimous, the low replay value due to the short campaign length and no multiplayer mode was heavily criticized.

However, it's finally time to move on for Ready at Dawn. Andrea Pessino, Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the studio, revealed a few hours ago via Twitter that Ready at Dawn is now working on multiple, exciting projects; he also added that he's having the most fun since he began making games.

To compound this, Pessino replied to a tweet by 3D Realms Co-Founder George Broussard about the imminent layoffs for Kojima Productions LA, saying that Ready at Dawn is hiring before Christmas.

While the studio has a long history of working with Sony, the new projects are basically guaranteed to be multiplatform titles. The new CEO, Paul Sams (former COO of Blizzard), said as much during an interview with GamesIndustry a few months ago:

Great games come in many shapes and sizes these days and we will look to be involved with games that we believe in and that we love to play ourselves. Said another way, we are platform agnostic at this point - just like most gamers. Further, our technology now supports multiplatform development. Since the release of The Order, we have been very hard at work to advance our engine and technology to a place where we can deliver our games on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and one other unannounced platform that you will soon find out about.
