Scorpio 4K, 1080p Visual Enhancements Showcased In New Comparison Images

Following the reveal of Scorpio's final specs, Microsoft has been more than eager to talk about its upcoming console and the enhancements it will bring for both upcoming and already released games. At a recent private event, the North American company demonstrated precisely how the console's GPU will enhance games' visuals.

Some uncompressed comparison images have been shared today by Windows Central, highlighting how the Scorpio will enhance visuals not only on 4K displays but also on 1080p ones. The enhancements seen in these images, which can be checked out by going here, are only some of the possible ones, as developers can choose between different ways to utilize the console's six teraflops of GPU power to enhance their titles.

While you will undoubtedly need a 4K set to see the true benefits of Project Scorpio, you will get many enhances textures, geometry, and effects on standard HD displays. These images show enhancements Scorpio can make to existing Xbox One titles by virtue of resolution bumps alone, without any additional tweaking and features that utilize Scorpio's monstrous specs.

The new Microsoft console promises to bring true 4K gaming with its 6 teraflops of computing power, eight-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, 12GB of GDDR5 RAM and 40 Compute Units. According to Stardock’s CEO Brad Wardell, it will take 2 years for developers to fully utilize the console's power, so we clearly haven't seen much yet.
