Pixel 9 Pro Renders Show Up Several Months Before Official Launch, With A More Refined Design, Bigger Cameras And More

Google I/O is still a few months away, and it is typically during the advertising giant’s keynote that we would get a small teaser of the upcoming Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. However, we got a look at the larger flagship’s renders much before that, and in case you have not noticed in the latest images, we see an improved design, coupled with some bigger rear cameras and a lot more.

Google is reportedly switching to a flat display for the Pixel 9 Pro, though it may use a smaller screen size this time

The first look of the Pixel 9 Pro was thanks to the collaboration between OnLeaks and MySmartPrice, with perhaps the biggest cosmetic change arriving to the display. Apparently, Google will shift to a flat panel, and in terms of overall footprint, the Pixel 9 Pro is said to be smaller than its predecessor, moving to a 6.5-inch screen compared to the 6.7-inch one belonging to the Pixel 8 Pro. Google may want to shrink its top-end model physically for 2024 because it figured that several users complained about the massive size and weight of the Pixel 8 Pro.

Other than that, the design saw an improvement too, with the Pixel 9 Pro renders showing slimmer bezels and a horizontally-arranged rear camera array that sports bigger sensors than last time. Though the camera details were not mentioned, the unit in the center is the largest out of the trio, with a periscope camera placed right next to it. If our guess is correct, it also looks as if the temperature sensor will return to this flagship, assuming that the sensor is present right below the rear flash.

The renders also provide the dimensions of the Pixel 9 Pro, claiming that it will measure 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5mm, which will increase to 12.0mm if you count that large camera bump. Previously, we learned that both the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro would be equipped with the Tensor G4 SoC, though the rumor claimed that the chipset would be a minor upgrade over the Tensor G3, with Google possibly sticking with Samsung as the foundry partner.

However, seeing as how the Korean manufacturer has caught everyone’s attention with its Exynos 2400 and its impressive capabilities highlighted in benchmark comparisons, we have high hopes for the Tensor G4. We expect some parts of these renders to be altered as the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro launch date draws near, so we recommend readers stay tuned for more updates.
