Phantom Line was possibly one of the most impressive showcases featured in Summer Game Fest 2024's PC Gaming Show.
Labeled as 'paranormal SWAT', this is a cooperative tactical first-person shooter game in development at ANTISTATIC Studios, a Polish team composed of former Cyberpunk 2077 and BioShock developers.
Set in a 'post-nuclear' version of Europe, it puts players in the role of an operator enrolled in an elite special operations unit that handles paranormal events. Employed by Mortfield Industries, the player character will be sent to the so-called Iron Corridor in Eastern Europe, where one of Mortfield's research facilities has suddenly gone dark.
One of the players' biggest assets is the H.U.S.K. program that allows them to transfer consciousness between artificial bodies. H.U.S.K.s can be used strategically to scout, distract, decoy, and more.
The world of Phantom Line is full of paranormal creatures and unexplained phenomena dubbed “anomalies.” These leak into the world through rifts in the space-time fabric.
Players will have their base of operations in the nuclear-powered Icebreaker ship. Here, they will get to customize their H.U.S.K. and cabin, showcase weapons and armor to friends, and, most importantly, modify their gear and body.
Phantom Line's gameplay also includes survival elements, such as hunting and cooking wild animals. Players must utilize any available resources, gear up, and adjust their tactics to the situation on the ground.
The developers have announced a Pre-Alpha playtest available now through June 18. Interested players need only join the official Discord channel to get a key and check out Phantom Line. To that end, you may find the minimum and recommended system requirements useful.
