After months of teasers and leaks, the OnePlus Ace 3 is finally official in China right now. The phone will debut in the international markets later this month as OnePlus 12R. Despite the phone being amazing, I would say that its biggest draw is the price here, as the phone packs some stellar specs but is not as expensive as one might think.
At under $360, the OnePlus Ace 3 is perhaps the best phone that you can buy for cheap
Let's get the obvious out of the way. The OnePlus Ace 3 runs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 instead of the latest Gen 3 processor. There is nothing to scoff at here because, despite being old, it still is one of the more compelling chipsets in the market and will certainly not disappoint anyone who is looking for good performance for the price you are paying.
In addition to that, the OnePlus Ace 3 brings the same display as the OnePlus 12, but this time around, the resolution is lowered to 1.5K. You are, however, getting the same LTPO tech, refresh rate, as well as 4,500 nits of peak brightness, with 1,600 brightness in high brightness mode. These numbers might not matter to you, but the thing that you must know is that the screen is going to be top-notch.
As far as the rest of the specs are concerned, the OnePlus Ace 3 ships with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage. There is also the largest battery that OnePlus has used in a phone at 5,500 mAh, and 100W charging, too. There are some corners cut here as the phone does not have any wireless charging, but I guess once you hear the price, you will understand why.
On the back, the OnePlus Ace 3 sports a decent camera system, with the primary sensor being the Sony IMX890. The company recently shared the samples, and honestly, I am really impressed. The 8-megapixel ultra-wide and a 2-megapixel macro camera might not make sense for many people, but hey, at least the main camera is good and has a high resolution. The phone even comes with an IR blaster, an in-display fingerprint sensor, Rainwater Touch technology, and all the bells and whistles that you can expect from a OnePlus device.
If you are looking to buy the OnePlus Ace 3 in China or import it, the phone starts at just 2,599 yuan (~$357) for the base 12GB/256GB. If you want the most spec intensive version, then you are going to have to pay 3,499 yuan (~$492) for the top-end 16GB/1TB model. The phone will be priced slightly higher in the international market, but that is something that should not really come as a surprise.
