Both the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R will hit the international markets on 23rd January 2024. While many people are eying for the elder sibling, the more budget option is not bad at all, especially if you look at the specs that have just leaked out. Based on all the information, the phone could easily be a budget king, and I am really looking forward to seeing how it performs.

Now, it is worth noting that the OnePlus 12R is going to be an affordable variant with some corners cut in terms of the specifications. This normally is not really a bad thing because it will also be significantly cheaper. Now, we have a full spec-sheet leak telling us what the phone will offer in terms of specs, and I think it would make a very viable device even for 2024.

Looking at the specs, you can see that the OnePlus 12R has all the makings of a flagship smartphone. Sure, there are a few downsides to the chipset, which is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but honestly, that is a pretty sweet offering even by today's modern standards. The only issue I do have with the phone is its camera system, which sees a downgrade, especially in the ultra-wide and macro departments. You see no telephoto camera on the phone, and the primary Sony IMX890 sensor is flanked by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and a 2-megapixel macro camera, which honestly sounds like an afterthought.

The rest of the OnePlus 12R is pretty identical in terms of specs to its elder siblings other than a few changes, but if the company manages to price it right, they will have a budget king in their hands that can easily rival any competitively priced phone in the global market. Considering how the phone is indeed headed to international markets, I am looking forward to seeing what we manage to get our hands on once the phone actually starts shipping.
