NVIDIA has managed to grow its influence within the Big Tech circle with its latest partnership, as the company collaborates with Meta, an entity known for its inclination towards AMD as well.

NVIDIA-Meta Partnership Involves Blackwell, Blackwell Ultra & Vera Rubin AI Infrastructure

With the biggest AI buildout, companies like Meta are in dire need of computing power, which is why they make sense to enter into strategic partnerships with the likes of AMD and NVIDIA. In their latest move, NVIDIA has unveiled a "multiyear, multigenerational strategic partnership" with Meta, which will enable the extensive adoption of "millions" of Blackwell and Rubin AI chips and, interestingly, will also give the AI giant access to standalone Grace CPUs and the Vera generation. It appears that with this collaboration, Meta is going 'all-in' towards Team Green's hardware stack.

Before we dive into the specifics of the deal, let's look at how the Meta-AMD partnership is moving. Meta is one of AMD's largest AI customers, accounting for more than 40% of the total revenue last year. More specifically, Meta is also a primary adopter of the Instinct MI300X AI server racks, indicating that the company has shown a deep commitment to Team Red's infrastructure. Interestingly, AMD has also designed its Helios rack around Meta's ORW specifications, but considering the recent MI455X delay rumors, it would be interesting to see how Helios turns out for Meta.

NVIDIA's collaboration with Meta isn't confined to the computing front; it also enables AI integration with services like WhatsApp through the "Confidential Computing" initiative. Meta has also adopted NVIDIA's networking infrastructure, the Spectrum-X Ethernet for scale-up access, and if you have guessed it by now, Meta's collaboration is an extensive integration of NVIDIA's compute and AI services.

Meta's partnership doesn't go into much detail about finances, but it appears that a multi-generational agreement could span signifcantly over the course of next year, making Meta one of Team Green's biggest customers, alongside Microsoft and OpenAI.
