NVIDIA's CEO Claims That Chip Tariffs Would Be Devastating, But Big Tech Will Survive Them

There's no doubt that NVIDIA is the largest tech company in the U.S., and whatever its CEO, Jensen Huang, says to the public, it has to be heard carefully. When the Trump administration took over the office and imposed export controls, Jensen voiced opposition to the moves, claiming them to be disruptive for the American market. However, in an interview with USA Today, Jensen has shown optimism towards President Trump's policies, particularly his controversial tariff moves, and the NVIDIA CEO says that tariffs are likely to be absorbed by the markets.

NVIDIA's CEO reportedly met President Trump a few days ago, where he was congratulated on the $4 trillion valuation achievement. If you are unaware, NVIDIA is the first company to have hit this milestone, and more importantly, Team Green has taken America's AI dominance to new levels, but introducing hardware that no other entity has managed to put up in the market. The markets are particularly concerned with President Trump's semiconductor tariffs, but Jensen says America's largest company isn't worried about them, and that Big Tech will survive this phase too.

Every single year there were rules and taxes and tariffs and policies and regulations, and we survived. I have every confidence that the world is going to survive this, companies will survive this and whatever it turns out to be, we'll make the best of it.

If NVIDIA isn't showing concern about chip tariffs, notably, the firm is TSMC's largest customer right now. Jensen's calm approach to the tariff policy shows that Team Green is ready for them, although they will have disruptive effects on the supply chain. Interestingly, NVIDIA's CEO is expected to be in China in the upcoming days, meeting with local leaders to likely reassure them of the company's commitment in the region.
