First Whispers of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 60 Series: GR20X "Rubin" GPU Family & 2H 2027 Launch

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 50 "SUPER" family's launch remains a mystery after the postponement from a 1H 2026 launch to the mid or 2026. The lineup is expected to remain postponed until the foreseeable future as the DRAM market remains in a crisis due to ongoing shortages caused by the surged on the AI segment. But there are already whispers of the next-gen RTX family.

For this report, Kopite7kimi is back and has an update to share. It's not for Blackwell RTX 50 series or the RTX 50 SUPER lineup, but instead, it is for the RTX 60 series. As per the latest information, or what is being circulated at the moment, the next-gen RTX family will be based on the Rubin GR20x GPU family. And this is where things get interesting.

You see, NVIDIA has been diversifying its GPU family into consumer and data center parts under the same architecture. Blackwell had the GB20x line for the consumer variants, while the data center lineup, named GB200, featured two B100 chips. For Rubin, the Data center chip, GR100, is based on two GR102 chips, and it is unlikely that GR102 will make it to the gaming family.

Also, Kopite states that the NVIDIA Rubin CPX chip that was revealed a while back is actually codenamed GR212, but it won't be part of the gaming lineup. So yeah, an interesting note to mention here. Based on preliminary speculation, the lineup should be something like GR202, GR203, GR205, GR206, & GR207, the same as the existing Blackwell gaming lineup.

It is also stated that the Rubin gaming family or GeForce RTX 60 series is expected to launch in 2H 2027, which follows NVIDIA's typical launch timeframe. It's either around the year-end or at the very start to have something consumer-ready for the annual CES showcase. Well, whatever the lineup will be, we can't wait to hear more about the Gaming Rubin family, but it will be a while before we hear some concrete info, such as specs, configurations, etc.
