Production & availability of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 & the rest of the RTX 50 series remain normal amid false reports.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs Are Not Being Discontinued or EOL'd, Entire RTX 50 Lineup Available

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 is the fastest gaming graphics card, period. It's got over 21K cores, 32 GB of blistering-fast GDDR7 memory, and features the latest Blackwell architecture with DLSS MFG support and a range of AI technologies. The card has also been a hot item for the AI segment, as certain workstation builders prefer the 5090 over the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell solution. The reasoning is simple, sure the 5090 costs over two grand, but the PRO 6000 costs around 9-10K USD, so it's a 4 to 5x difference in price for 3x the VRAM and slightly better specs.

These entry-level AI solutions make the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU a viable solution for their builds. On the other hand, the card wrecks everything in gaming, offering the fastest performance in all the latest games.

But with that said, there have been recent reports that NVIDIA might be discontinuing or EOL the RTX 5090 GPU. These are similar reports that popped up a few months back but were instantly debunked. Those claimed that NVIDIA would be launching its RTX 50 "SUPER" refresh in October, yet we are in the month of November, and there's no sign of a "SUPER" refresh.

Those reports also claimed that NVIDIA's RTX 50 Founders Edition GPUs, such as the RTX 5080, 5070, and 5060, were discontinued; however, that is also debunked since NVIDIA has the cards listed on its marketplace:

The only FE model that isn't listed is the RTX 5090 FE, and as NVIDIA explained before, Founders Edition cards are limited edition products, and they go out of stock from time to time, but return when they are back in stock. That's exactly the case with the RTX 5090, as we have confirmed with NVIDIA that the RTX 5090 production remains normal and is available across leading retailers, along with the entirety of the RTX 50 series lineup.

NVIDIA was straightforward with their reply on the RTX 5090 & RTX 50 availability when we asked them about any discontinuation plans:

All GeForce RTX 50-Series GPUs available.

So there you have it, just like the previous rumors, the reports regarding the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 seem to be just false rumors being spread. Sure, a retailer or two might be facing stock shortages due to higher demand, and might've thought that the card is no longer being produced at the same capacity as it was earlier, but it's the other way around. The demand is there, and the capacity, while remaining normal, needs to catch up with the demand for the RTX 5090.

As of right now, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 prices remain above MSRP. PCPartPicker's price tracker shows the average pricing is close to $3000 US, down from $3500 US a few months back.

The prices did fall close to MSRP levels ($1999) a few weeks back, but they are once again up. The cards are still available at major retailers.
