Two graphics cards, one NVIDIA and one AMD Radeon, are angled towards each other with the Steam logo in the background.

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070 GPUs are now more popular than RTX 4070 on Steam, as gamers see it as one of the best values in the RTX 50 series.

The latest Steam Hardware Survey statistics are in, and this would be the second last covering the year 2025. As we approach the end of the year, we can see how this year's GPU launches have performed on the largest PC gaming platform.

Starting with the GPU share, NVIDIA retains a 73.83% hold among gamers on Steam, while AMD comes in at second place with 18.05%, and Intel follows in at 3rd place with 7.74%.

In terms of VRAM, the majority of gamers (33.36%) are still using 8 GB GPUs, though those along with 6 GB and 4 GB models are seeing a steady decline as gamers go for higher VRAM offerings. This has led to 12 GB GPUs seeing a drastic rise to second place, amounting to 19.22%, and the same is true with 16 GB GPUs, which have seen a rise to 8.13%. 32 GB VRAM GPUs are also seeing a slight uptick, thanks to the likes of the RTX 5090.

When it comes to the Top 10 GPUs on Steam, the RTX 4060 Laptop retains top spot with 4.44% share as of November 2025. This is followed by the RTX 3060, RTX 4060, RTX 3050, GTX 1650, RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, and, surprisingly, AMD's Radeon GPUs, which have a respectable share of 2.24%, though these include several GPUs and not one.

In 11th place is the first and most popular RTX 50 series GPU, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070. This has gained the biggest share jump of 0.35% in November 2025, and now sits at 2.23%, higher than the 2.16% of its predecessor, the RTX 4070.

If you look at the overall figures for the RTX 50 series, all GPUs have gained share among gamers on Steam. The RTX 5070 is followed by the RTX 5060 with its 1.62% hold, and that is followed by the RTX 5060 Ti at third place with a 1.20% share. Given the current holiday deals, we can expect the shares for RTX 50 series and AMD's RX 9000 series to climb. There's also the factor of rising prices, which can result in a panic or a buyer's spree who will want to get their hands on the latest gaming graphics cards before the price hikes come into effect.
