Retailers are struggling to maintain the prices of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs in various retail stores in Germany.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU availability remains average but the prices soar as we get closer to Blackwell's launch
NVIDIA's Ada lineup is mostly abundant in most parts of the world, particularly the mid-range and upper-mid-range offerings. The flagship GPU, RTX 4090, on the other hand, doesn't seem to enjoy the same abundance as other GPUs, at least in some parts of the world. As per the latest report, it looks like most vendors want to get rid of the GPU.
Prices for GeForce RTX 4090 in 🇩🇪🇦🇹 have recently risen significantly and availability is now only average. Some large retailers have just a single offer at an inflated price.

As reported by 3DCenter, many retail stores in Germany are selling the GPU for a higher price than MSRP. This comes at a time when the availability of RTX 4090 looks average as usual. The tech outlet monitored the GPU prices for almost a year and found that the current prices of the RTX 4090 increased by as high as 25%.
Last year on August 20th, the average RTX 4090 German retail prices were 1590-1670 Euros but increased to 1950-2100 Euros in November of the same year. The prices did drop back but it was still higher than previously, sitting somewhere between 1750 and 1900 Euros. The RTX 4090 on other retail websites such as Caseking and Mindfactory is selling as high as 2304 Euros and 2668 Euros respectively, which is a massive price increase.
This comes even though the RTX 4090 inventory seems to be the same as before but it's expected that the GPUs will be out of stock soon, at least in a couple of months. This is what PCGamesHardware suggests as NVIDIA prepares for the RTX 50 series Blackwell gaming GPUs. Take this report with a grain of salt as this is still a speculation but it was recently rumored that the RTX 4090 and RTX 4090D are soon going to be discontinued.
We reported that the GPU will be discontinued in October and it may lead to an increase in the prices. This is exactly what is happening at least in Germany at the moment. We expect that the RTX 5090 and RTX 5090D will replace the RTX 4090 and RTX 4090D respectively with Blackwell's launch. These will be the flagship GPUs in the lineup with the RTX 5090D specific to the Chinese market.
If we go by the recent leak, NVIDIA should have already completed the final design for some of the high-end RTX 50 GPUs this month. These are the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 GPUs, which are rumored to be more power-hungrier than their predecessors. RTX 4090 is currently the fastest gaming GPU one can buy but it's possible that NVIDIA would no longer continue its production as the RTX 5090/5090D will provide enthusiasts with a much better option. We may see the GPU launch at the end of this year or in the early part of 2025.
