The ‘Liquid Glass’ design is not everyone’s cup of tea, but that is what Apple is slated to launch later this year, with the UI change arriving on all of its operating systems. As you would expect, not everyone is a fan of what the technology giant has envisioned its next major design shift to be, but the Nothing CEO is not one of those individuals and says that he actually likes Liquid Glass. However, as much as he has publicized his liking for the UI change, he claims that he will not adopt it for Nothing OS.
When asked if Apple’s Liquid Glass is something that Nothing's CEO would ‘copy,’ the Chief Executive responded that ‘we have great stuff to launch too’
On X, Carl Pei voiced his opinion on Apple’s latest design shift, saying that ‘Liquid Glass... I kinda love it?’ The Nothing CEO has reviewed and provided his take on competitors’ products, including the iPhone 15 Pro, so he is no stranger to delivering an impartial overview of other devices and companies. The head honcho of Nothing appreciating Liquid Glass can mean that Carl Pei may take inspiration from Apple’s latest change and adopt it in the company’s upcoming devices, but that is not the case here.
When blatantly asked by another X user if he will ‘copy’ Apple’s Liquid Glass approach, the Nothing CEO responds that ‘we have great stuff to launch too,’ concluding that the company has its own direction to follow. Another person has mentioned that Liquid Glass looks attractive, but it is not practical, as the app icon translucency is something that will strain the users’ eyes. To this remark on X, Pei states that ‘design should serve function and usability first.’
Liquid Glass... I kinda love it? 🤷

The first iOS 26 beta 1 for developers is available to download and install, so if you want to check out the Liquid Glass UI yourself to see if your opinions match with that of the Nothing CEO’s, have a crack at it and let us know in the comments what you think.
