The Nintendo Switch 2 will undergo minor changes in appearance over the current dock, but under the hood, it will pack some significant improvements, according to a new report.

After sharing a post on Facebook supposedly revealing new information on the yet-to-be-unveiled new console from Nintendo, Chinese manufacturer Mobapad shared a new report on their official website revealing some additional information on the console. According to the manufacturer, the Nintendo Switch 2 dock won't look too different from the current dock, but under its hood, it will enhance performance and support 4K resolution, which is not really surprising, considering the system supposedly supports NVIDIA DLSS.

The new Nintendo Switch 2 from Mobapad also revealed some additional information on the new Joy-Con controllers. The new controllers will feature metallic SL and SR buttons, as well as some new buttons on the left and right sides of the controller, as well as a brand new function button located below the HOME button. What this button actually controls hasn't been defined.

While the Nintendo Switch 2 will only be a "conservative hardware evolution," the console will be considerably more powerful than its predecessor. Powered by the T239 chip, the new system will come with a performance level not too different from last-generation consoles but with advantages granted by much more recent technology. The console is also said to support ray tracing, which will be made even better by NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
