On September 1, 2026, the price of a Nintendo Switch 2 console will increase across several markets as the world of consoles becoming more expensive the longer they're around instead of less, continues. After that aforementioned date, the minimum price to enter the Switch 2 generation is a cool $499.99 USD, but before that goes into full effect, you can pay that price for a Switch 2 over the summer and get one of three major first-party games to go along with it.
Nintendo has announced a new 'Choose Your Game Bundle' for the Nintendo Switch 2, which gets you a download code for either Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia, along with a brand new Switch 2 console for $499.99
It's a little wild to consider, but this could realistically be the last time the Switch 2 is bundled together for this cheap, at least in an official bundle from Nintendo. $500 for the console and a game is by no means 'cheap,' but compared to what's coming where that same $500 will only get you the console itself in a few months' time, it's better than a kick in the head.
The bundle will be available beginning in June 2026, so you have a few weeks to decide which of the three games you'd want to pick up, if you've already made the decision to grab a Switch 2 ahead of the price hike in September.
It's worth noting of course that this is just a better version of the Mario Kart World bundle, which was the same price and the only difference was that whether you wanted it or not, Mario Kart World was the game you'd get. Now at least you have a choice as we move to the Switch 2's one-year anniversary and there's more than one major first-party Nintendo game available for it.
That said, the choice of games is interesting. Pokopia is a game that Nintendo has acknowledged as a system seller, and there's a massive gap between Mario Kart World, the current leading best-selling Nintendo Switch 2 game at 14.7M units sold, and Donkey Kong Bananza in second place at 4.52M sold.
World's numbers were definitely inflated by the fact that it was bundled with the console for so long, and now Nintendo is seemingly looking to do the same for Donkey Kong and Pokopia.
