In the past few weeks, we saw a few Z890 motherboards getting leaked here and there but till now, no motherboard maker has introduced their lineups officially. On the other hand, there are plenty of X870E and X870 motherboard unveiling. The motherboard manufacturer also unveiled its lineup a few days ago.

The latest MSI motherboard reveals features of the MPG Z890 Carbon WiFi, which will be aimed at the mid-range segment and provides a similar design to the MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi, including the I/O, which is almost identical. There are plenty of USB 3.2 ports and several USB Type C ports, plus BIOS Flash, Clear CMOS, and Smart Button for various uses.

MSI MPG Z890 Carbon WiFi Motherboard:

Unfortunately, we don't have enough info about its power delivery & stuff that can be known only from the specs sheet. Still, there are a couple of things we can spot from the motherboard and its box. This includes the mention of Intel Core Ultra on the box and various connectivity technologies. On the motherboard itself, we can find three PCI-E x16 slots and a large M.2 shield connected to the chipset. There are also at least three M.2 slots beneath the large cover next to the Z890 chipset.

There is also the 8-pin PCI-E connector, which we talked about in one of our previous posts. This connector will also supply the power to the PCI-E slots so that the graphics cards can receive the required power. On the top-right, there is also an Error Code display for troubleshooting and it's most likely that the motherboard will also feature EZ Debug LEDs, which is one of the iconic features by MSI, present even on its budget offerings.

MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi Motherboard:

We can also see the WiFi 7 adapter and two LAN ports for wired internet connection, which are also mentioned on the box. As for the MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi, we have its price revealed along with two more X870 MSI motherboards, which are currently listed on an Australian retail website: itspot.com.au.

There are a total of three X870E/X870 MSI motherboards listed on the retailer, revealing their MSRPs:

The motherboard listings don't reveal their images and almost everything related to their specs is missing. However, we already know the details of those as MSI revealed them last week. Nonetheless, we can see that the high-end Carbon WiFi X870E translates to around US$610, the X870 Tomahawk to US$420, and the PRO X870-P WiFi to US$383. These are quite expensive but do remember that there are additional costs that are added to computer components in Australia like taxes and shipping fees.

As Intel plans to launch the Arrow Lake series officially on 24th October, we can expect to see the Z890 motherboards getting launched simultaneously. The X870 and X870E motherboards, however, will launch this month on the 30th of September.
