MSI's upcoming Claw 8 EX AI+ Gaming handheld, which will be powered by the Intel Arc G3 Extreme SoC, has been listed online.

MSI's Next-Gen Claw Handheld Spotted At Italian Retailer: Features Intel Arc G3 Extreme SoC, 32 GB Memory & 1 TB Storage

Intel will soon be introducing its next-generation handheld SoCs called Arc G3. These will come in two flavors: a standard G3 and a high-end G3 Extreme. The Arc G3 series is Intel's big entry into the gaming handheld through dedicated SoCs, similar to what AMD does with its Ryzen Z series SoCs.

Now, the first handheld has been listed online at French retailer, ollo. The handheld is MSI's Claw 8 EX AI+ "CG3EM-013IT" which features the Intel Arc G3 Extreme SoC. No details regarding the chip are mentioned, but other specs such as memory, storage, and display are highlighted.

The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ will feature 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory, reportedly running at the same 9600 MT/s speeds as the high-end Panther Lake chips. We can make some guesses about the iGPU, which is likely going to be similar in specs to the Arc B390, though optimized for gaming handhelds. For storage, there's a single 1 TB SSD, though there might be room for expansion through SD cards, etc.

Other details include an 8" 1080p display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, a 4-Cell 80Whr battery, and support for Wi-Fi 7. The display is an IPS-level panel with 500 nits brightness and 100% sRGB coverage. Other than that, you get touchscreen functionality and a Claw Travel Case II for the handheld.

The retailer has listed the handheld for €1599, which is €200 higher than the previous Claw 8 AI+ listed at the same retailer. Memory and Storage prices are on the rise, so we can link the higher prices to supply constraints that have gripped the market. As for launch, we expect many Intel Arc G3 handhelds to be available in the second half of this year.
