MSI showcased a range of new hardware at its CES 2026 booth, featuring 5K monitors, new motherboards, laptops, graphics cards, and much more.
MSI 2026 Lineup Is Just as Extensive As You Might Expect, Next-Gen Products Across All PC Hardware Segments
Right off the bat, we want to start with products, as there are way too many to discuss, and each from MSI deserves its own detailed rundown.
MSI Brings 5K To 27" MPG & MAG Gaming Monitor Lineup With Dual-Mode Technology
At CES, monitor manufacturers are showing off 5K and 6K monitors. MSI also showed off two impressive 5K monitors, which fall within its MPG and MAG lineups. First up is the MPG 271KRAW16, which is a 27" design with a Mini LED panel that features an "AI Dual-Mode" technology, and 2304 individual lighting zones. Its modes include a 2K 330Hz and a 5K 165Hz configuration. The monitor itself comes with VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification, DisplayPort 2.1, NVIDIA G-Sync support, and a one-click switch to switch between the two modes.
The second monitor is the MSI MAG 271KPD7, which has the same 27" 5K display based on the Rapid IPS panel tech with a 0.5ms GTG, a pixel density of 218 PPI "Retina Level", and VESA DisplayHDR 400. MSI is configuring the dual mode in 2K 300Hz and 5K 75Hz modes. Additionally, the AI Dual mode technology assists by automatically adjusting the refresh rate for seamless resolution switching. Display outputs include one DP 1.4a, two HDMI 2.1, a 15W Type-C port, two USB 5 Gbps Type-A, and a single USB 5 Gbps Type-B port. The monitor supports DSC.
These aren't the only monitors that MSI announced this week. They also have new 32" and 34" QD-OLED panels along with the latest NVIDIA Pulsar addition in its family.
MSI's Newest Motherboards Showcase Strong Memory Support & Are Next-Gen Ready
For motherboards, MSI showcased its MEG X870E Unify-X, which is the first time the company is offering its high-end memory-OC-ready Unify-X series since the release of the standard Unify back with the X570 series. This high-end "MAX" motherboard features over 10,000 MT/s DRAM support, a solid OC design, 64 MB BIOS, and an OC Engine with BCLK OC support to the PBO BCLK Booster features. The board is also ready for the upcoming Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs and will also support CUDIMM memory when Zen 6 rolls out later this year.
Besides this, MSI also showcased a new 4-Rank CUDIMM or CQDIMM demo running on an unreleased motherboard, which it labeled as "In-Development Motherboard". The motherboard looks a lot like the Z890 Unify-X and was running an Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus CPU with 4-Rank 128 GB x 2 CUDIMM. This enables up to 256 GB capacities on a 2-DIMM platform with overclocking optimizations for 63% higher performance. Talking to MSI, we learned that this technology is just a demo for now, and will be available fully with Intel's next-gen lineup, presumably Nova Lake-S.
Hands-On With The Most Impressive RTX 5090 GPU, The MSI Lightning
We were very excited to visit the MSI booth because they were showcasing their latest GeForce RTX 5090 Lightning graphics card. MSI had the full graphics card, along with components of the Lightning, such as its cooler, PCB, and shroud, individually showcased. The build from the high-performance 40-Phase PCB, and the Carbon Fiber backplate to its high-end AIO cooler were just as impressive as we thought.
The RTX 5090 Lightning has already broken various records and will be available in both "Z" and "X" flavors when it goes on retail. MSI told us that the MSRP would be around $3000 US, which means that retail pricing should be around $5000 US or higher based on the current market trends.
Prestige & Stealth Laptops Get The Biggest Upgrade With Intel Panther Lake CPUs
The MSI laptop lineup is also getting major updates with Intel's new Panther Lake & Arrow Lake Refresh CPUs. The company showcased its brand new Prestige, Stealth, and Raider families, featuring upgraded specifications, sleek and slim designs, and new cooling solutions. MSI also showcased its new laptop PCB, which is compact with embedded LPDDR5X modules, and offers up to the flagship Core Ultra X9 388H CPU.
MSI's Core Component Lineup Gets Brand New PSUs With Safer 16-Pin Connectors, New SSDs, & A Stunning MEG AIO Cooler
Lastly, MSI unveiled its brand-new range of core components such as PSUs, SSDs, and AIO coolers.
We'll start off with the new MPG and MAG PSUs, which now come with GPU Safeguard+ technology, which has been designed specifically to offer extra protection on the 16-pin connector interface. The new PSUs not only offer 2x the current protection, but also feature a new buzzer and Pop-Up screen notification to alert users about the status of the 16-pin connector. Users will be able to see the real-time status of the 12V-2x6 current through MSI's Center App, and the pop-up screen can also be adjusted manually from the same application. This is the first time a manufacturer has gone to this extent to safeguard from unwanted 16-pin connector scenarios.
There's also the new MSI Spatium M571 DLP SSD, which features the new Phison E28 Gen5 controller with up to 50% power savings, strong read and write speeds rated at up to 14 GB/s & 11 GB/s, respectively, a 218-layer NAND flash implementation, and up to 4 TB capacities in M.2 2280 form factor. We expect to see more Spatium SSDs this year based on a faster and value-oriented Gen5 controller.
And finally, we have MSI's new flagship AIO cooler, the MEG Coreliquid E15 360. This AIO features a curved 6.67" OLED (HD) display and employs the new Triflow Reversal fan technology for higher airflow. The fans are integrated within a singular RGB frame, which looks very premium, and, being a user of the MSI MEG AIO cooler for a long time, I can't wait to see the cooling upgrade the new MEG has on offer.
With that said, that's all from MSI's CES 2026 presentation and their booth. Expect these products to see a gradual rollout throughout 2026.
