Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is getting a nautical DLC titled War Sails, a fact that we first learned this past March at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase. It was initially set to launch in June, but ahead of that launch in May, it was delayed to sometime in Fall 2025. Today, during the Gamescom 2025 edition of the Future Games Show, TaleWorlds has unveiled a new trailer for War Sails, but has unfortunately not yet confirmed an official release date.

TaleWorlds has, however, confirmed that alongside the launch of War Sails, whenever that is, a free update in patch 1.3 will "introduce new gameplay mechanics like stealth and disguise systems, random events, a Parley feature, and combat improvements," per a press release.

When TaleWorlds delayed the expansion this past May, it said that the team came to the decision to delay it "after a lot of thought (and a few long meetings), because we need more time to reach the level of quality you rightfully expect. The extra development period will give us more time to apply additional polish, and continue making progress on the improvements to the base game that are already in motion – We believe this short delay will ultimately lead to a better and more enjoyable experience for all players."

Hopefully, we'll have an official release date to look forward to soon.
