Monster Hunter Wilds expanded endgame content is launching sooner than expected, CAPCOM confirmed today.

On the series' official X profile, the Japanese publisher confirmed that the endgame expansion planned for September is coming with the 1.021 update launching on August 13. This new expanded endgame will include a new set of high-difficulty quests, new talismans with randomly assigned combination skills, which can be obtained as rewards for these quests, weapon balance adjustments, and more. As the new update is releasing later than intended, CAPCOM also confirmed that the Festival of Accord: Flamefete seasonal event and the current Free Challenge Quest will be available for an additional week, and will now end on August 13 instead of August 6 as previously announced.

Considering how the generally low challenge level is one of Monster Hunter Wilds' biggest issues, the earlier arrival of the expanded endgame with high difficulty quests is more than welcome. Hopefully, CAPCOM will also start addressing performance issues in future updates, as they continue to be critical on PC and consoles.

Despite the issues above, Monster Hunter Wilds is still a fine game, masterfully adapting the series' quest-based formula with an open-world setting with much to offer. You can learn more about the latest entry in the series by checking out my review.
