Mirror's Edge Catalyst

Mirror's Edge Catalyst is less than 24 hours away from release, and fans of the series created by DICE are getting ready to enjoy the new entry. The team has also been working hard to make the game's launch as smooth as possible, releasing a new update which introduces new features for all versions of the game.

The new Mirror's Edge Catalyst update, which is less than 1GB big on PC, introduces a new feature that will make those who are going to play the game on powerful machines quite happy, the Hyper graphics settings. The update also improves minimum spec GPU support, improved GPU memery detection and increased customizaion in video settings.

The new Mirror's Edge Catalyst also adds a new feature for the Xbox One version of the game which should improve how the game looks on Microsoft's console, dynamic resolution. An issue where cutscenes get out of sync audio has also been fixed.

Here are the full patch notes for today's update.

  • Xbox One: Support for dynamic resolution.
  • Xbox One: Fixed an issue where the cut scenes could get out of sync with the audio.
  • PC: Introducing a new Graphics setting – Hyper.
  • PC: Improved minimum spec GPU support, improved GPU memory detection and increased customization in Video settings.
  • Fixed Lighting issues on spawn in.
  • Stability improvements.
  • Performance improvements.

Unfortunately, it seems like the PC version of Mirror's Edge Catalyst suffers from some stuttering issues, as reported by a few users who managed to acquire an early copy of the game. The stuttering, which is evident even on powerful machines, makes both cutscenes and gameplay not so enjoyable, so let's hope that the new patch manages to fix these issues for most of those who are currently dealing with them.

Mirror's EdgeCatalyst launches tomorrow, June 7th, in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
