Konami announced via Twitter that Metal Gear Survive will launch on February 20th, 2018 in the United States and February 22nd, 2018 in Europe.

The game is also available for pre-order now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; pre-order for the PC version, which will be available digitally via Steam, has not begun yet.

Pre-ordering the game will grant you the Survival Pack bonus: four gold-plated weapons (bat, spear, machete, sledgehammer), two additional gestures (Happy and Thumbs UP), four metallic survival scarves, a "Kabuki" face paint, a "Boxman [The Orange]" accessory, and a Mother Base nameplate.

In case you're not familiar with the game, Metal Gear Survive is a survival action spin-off game set in an alternative, dangerous and ruined world filled with creatures and hazardous mist. According to Konami, success relies on the players' ability to read the evolving situation and make strategic choices - placing defensive units, predicting enemy behavior and designing attack patterns.

The game will be playable in both single player and co-op (up to four players) modes. The single player mode features a story and is supposed to teach the fundamentals of gameplay, while co-op mode is where the survival action skills will be put to the test.

Kai went hands-on with the game at E3 2017 and was positively impressed by it.

I was somewhat cautious on the prospect of a cooperative survival title being connected to Metal Gear, but after having played through Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and loving every minute of it, I knew that engine could put in some work. I was already a huge fan of the multiplayer missions to Peace Walker (Isla del Monstruo in particular) and knew that creating a strange synergy with survival and the FOX Engine could actually turn out pretty decently if the team could pull it off. While my time with Metal Gear Survive was brief, every minute of it left me wanting more. Metal Gear Survive is among my top favorite titles to have the opportunity to check out firsthand, and I’ll be picking it up on day one once it arrives on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in early 2018.
