The entire computer industry is sweating profusely over the existence of the MacBook Neo, because Apple’s competitors are well aware that they cannot materialize anything that can compete with the Cupertino giant’s portable in the $599 bracket. It appears that the company’s only rival at this time is demand and how well it can maintain shipments in these few months. Education is a massive target market for Apple, and it has highlighted just how well the MacBook Neo is selling in its latest promotional video.
The MacBook Neo is selling exceptionally well, to the point that Apple has had to mention that the machine is ‘subject to availability’
The new video posted below shows kids in a classroom engaged with their iPads and MacBook Neo to expand their learning, but with the introduction of Apple’s $599 notebook, we expect the majority of students to replace their existing tablets with the portable Mac. The reason is simple: the MacBook Neo offers significantly more versatility, and even if similarly priced M4 iPad Air models offer better performance, macOS is just more suited to tackle the daily tasks that students are given.
Also, given the fact that, while limited to 8GB of unified memory, the MacBook Neo can hold its own in multitasking, opening up 60 apps in succession without running into performance issues, showing just how efficient macOS is in handling a boatload of programs running in unison. Additionally, Apple didn’t cut any corners on the MacBook Neo's build quality, as it employed a unibody aluminum chassis, making it an ideal choice for students who tend to wear and tear these products faster than others.
With all of these attributes combined, it’s no surprise that the MacBook Neo is selling in droves, which is exactly why Apple has mentioned that the machine is ‘subject to availability’ at the end of the video. We also reported that these Macs are so incredibly popular that Apple is running out of binned A18 Pro chips to use, so if it doesn’t fix the supply problems, it may have no choice but to introduce a second version powered by the A19 Pro.
As for those who haven’t yet upgraded to the MacBook Neo, you can still grab the base model with a 256GB SSD from Amazon for $589.99, with the 512GB variant going for $689.99 at its lowest before Apple potentially runs into overwhelming demand.
