Apple is expected to unveil its new M4 MacBook Air this week, and Tim Cook has now made it official, stating that new Air products are coming this week. We have recently reported that Apple will announce the new M4 MacBook Air this week, while the iPad Air with the same chip will be announced later.
Apple to announce a new M4 MacBook Air this week, but the M4 iPad Air and the entry-level iPad will be announced later
In a new post on X, Apple CEO Tim Cook states, "There's something in the air," likely referring to the MacBook Air. You can see the teaser below for more details, as the word 'Air' takes the center of the post, and something blazing fast passes through it, likely hinting at the M4 chip. Yesterday, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman claimed in his latest Power On newsletter that Apple will announce the M4 MacBook Air as soon as this week, and it appears that the word was accurate after all.
Apple recently unveiled the new iPhone 16e through the same medium, as it did not hold a dedicated event for the device, and we expect the same for the M4 MacBook Air. The M4 version of the MacBook Air will feature the same design as the current models but with enhanced computational and graphical performance thanks to the new chip. Moreover, the chip's improved efficiency would also allow the device to feature better battery life than the M3 version.

While a recent report pointed to the M4 MacBook Air release, Apple could also announce the iPad Air with the same chip. However, we believe the company will reserve its iPad announcements for later, potentially by the end of this month or in April.
