Apple leaks M4 Max chip ahead of M4 MacBook Pro launch

Apple surprised us with the announcement of the new Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro chip today, and by all means, the machine is a welcome addition. The design of the device has been slightly tweaked, which is now significantly smaller than the last generation but packs a punch when it comes to performance. Alongside the M4 Mac mini announcement, a developer managed to discover the M4 Max leak on Apple's website.

The discovery was made by developer Charlie Joseph, who revealed the M4 Max chip through an image on the company's website. The details were shared with Mark Gurman from Bloomberg on social media for further traction. Apple recently stated that it will release two new Macs this week, and out of the three, the company has released two new Macs with upgraded M4 chips. The company is now expected to announce the new M4 MacBook Pro on Wednesday if it keeps up with its trend.

Apple's forthcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are expected to come with the company's M4 Pro chip and the higher-end M4 Mac chip. The M4 Pro chip is quite powerful, as it is the higher-end option on the recently announced Mac mini, but the upcoming M4 Max chip will house an even higher number of cores on the CPU and GPU front for improved computational and graphical performance.

The latest M4 Max leak comes after the company introduced the new M4 Pro chip with the new redesigned Mac mini. You can check out the image of the M4 Max icon below, but note that the company could soon fix the error and erase the asset.

The M4 Pro chip features up to 14-core CPU, out of which 10 are performance cores, and 4 are efficiency cores. Other than this, the chip also features a 20-core GPU coupled with a 16-core Neural Engine, which will be handy for Apple Intelligence. The device also features 3 Thunderbolt 5 standard ports for faster data transfer speeds.

For the new M4 MacBook Pro models, we are only expecting a spec bump, which means that there will be no design changes part of the deal. We will be covering the launch in extensive detail, so be sure to stick around.
