Polish publisher CI Games announced in a fresh press release that the upcoming Soulslike game Lords of the Fallen 2 won't be published by Epic Games any longer (it is instead going to be self-published):

The Management Board of Cl Games SE with its registered office in Warsaw (the “Company“) hereby announces that on April 14, 2026 the Company entered into a Separation Agreement (the "Agreement") with Epic Games, Inc. (“Epic”) that releases Company from its obligations as provided in the Binding Publishing Term Sheet concluded by the Company and Epic on June 14, 2024 (the "Term Sheet").

The conclusion of the Agreement by the Company and Epic will not affect the ongoing cooperation between the parties in relation to the Unreal Engine, Epic online services, Epic account services, or the Company’s participation in the Fortnite ecosystem, and each of these relationships will continue and remain governed by their respective separate agreements.

Presumably, this happened through a buyout deal. The news is particularly interesting as it potentially hints at the game appearing on other PC stores. Lords of the Fallen 2 was unveiled in June 2024 as an Epic Games Store exclusive, which ruffled the feathers of all those PC gamers who really cannot stand Epic's store. However, CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski recently hinted that this situation could change in his X tweets. It should be noted that, at the time being, Lords of the Fallen 2 still cannot be found on Steam. That could change very soon, though.

Earlier this month, CI Games and developer Hexworks unveiled the female "skimpy" armor they had promised in this sequel, following a poll conducted among the community. We saw artwork of five female characters (Dark Justiciar, Kalanthia, Orath, the Radiant Priestess, and the Tlesie Huntress) in revealing armor, whose design was adjusted in partnership with content creator TheBackgroundNPC.

Feedback to the gameplay deep dive released a couple of months ago was "incredible", according to the developers, who took that to mean they're going in the right direction. Lords of the Fallen 2 is expected to launch in August for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S and X.
