Despite the iPhone 20 featuring one display design flaw, supply chain rumors claim that Apple still wants its launch to happen in 2027
The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Fold are yet to be unveiled, but there are copious details that surround the iPhone 20. According to Weibo’s Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 20 and its quad-curved display will be unveiled at next year’s keynote, which typically happens in the month of September.
The rumor doesn’t mention which other models will be joined alongside the 20th-anniversary release but it could be similar to the iPhone 8 unveiling back in 2017, where Apple’s ‘One More Thing’ reveal included the iPhone X. Next year, it’s possible that the iPhone 20 is joined by one or two standard releases that don’t feature the same quad-curved display but pack similar firepower underneath the hood.
However, even if Apple wants everything to go buttery smooth, there are still things that are out of the trillion-dollar firm’s control. For instance, the iPhone 20 will reportedly suffer from a distortion effect from the display’s edges, but Apple isn’t too keen on addressing it with next year’s release.
Fortunately, those who don’t intend to purchase the 20th-anniversary flagship will be pleased to learn that this design will be maintained for the 2028 lineup, with Apple addressing the aforementioned display flaw.
However, those who plan on upgrading next year should prepare themselves to fork over a premium because, with Apple running out of its DRAM stockpile and the iPhone 20’s OLED being exclusively manufactured by Samsung, it’s expected to fetch a hefty price.
