Apple iPhone 18 Pro is now widely expected to sport a more efficient display sourced from Samsung and LG, leaving China's BOE scrambling for the proverbial crumbs. At the same time, tipsters continue to feud over the size of the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, with the latest CAD renders inviting some hefty skepticism.

According to The Elec, Samsung and LG are now expected to supply the vast bulk of the LTPO+ OLED panels for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, with Apple expected to accord its final approval as soon as this month.
Critically, China's BOE is not expected to be an important part of these display schematics due to the supposed inferiority of its Lower-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide-plus (LTPO+) technology.
For the benefit of those who might not be aware, LTPO+ OLED can dramatically improve efficiency by dynamically adjusting the display's refresh rate, notching it up to 120Hz for gaming or smooth scrolling and bringing it all the way down to 1Hz when viewing a static image.
Meanwhile, Early Apple Leaks has now published CAD renders for the iPhone 18 Pro, showing a noticeably smaller Dynamic Island.
Over the past few weeks, we've received persistent rumors regarding a supposedly smaller Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, achieved by moving some components of the Face ID module below the display layer. A MacWorld source adheres to this view, as does Ice Universe.
Even so, the famous Weibo-based tipster Digital Chat Station has continued to maintain that the iPhone 18 Pro duo will sport minimal changes in relation to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, with upgrades whittled down to the A20 Pro chip, a variable-aperture camera setup, and a larger battery.
Apparently, these conflicting reports are the result of the A/B testing that Apple continues to undertake ahead of a final decision to move some Face ID components beneath the display.
