Skybound Entertainment has opened a crowdfunding campaign to make a triple-A game based on its Invincible IP. The campaign, available on Republic, is not meant for users but for investors. The minimum amount you can invest is $100, while the maximum is $5 million, which is also the maximum funding goal of the campaign. So far, the campaign is sitting at $450K with 13 days left to invest.

David Alpert, CEO of Skybound Entertainment, said in a statement:

We are thrilled to launch this Regulation Crowdfunding campaign on Republic, inviting fans to join us on this new expansion and venture. At Skybound, we prioritize fostering meaningful connections with our audience, and this initiative allows fans to not only immerse themselves in the world of Invincible but also to directly contribute to its expansion.

Since the pitch is to investors, there isn't that much information on the Invincible game, but it does sound like this will be a competitive game rather than a story-driven game, which I personally find disappointing since the narrative is what makes the TV show so incredible.

Anyway, here's the related overview from the Republic campaign:

Invincible is under development with a team of veteran developers with decades-long careers and multiple AAA games to their credit. With cutting-edge competitive gameplay, premium production values, and the most advanced online and technical foundations, Invincible will release under a premium model with multiple DLC expansions and special editions designed to cater to every level of fandom. In both competitive and local play modes, the game is designed to contribute new stories to the Invincible multiverse, enabling future releases, expansions, new character arcs, and adventures for years to come.

Skybound will develop the game with 'over 30 employees', which is definitely very low for a triple-A project. The studio pointed to Invincible Presents: Atom Eve and the recently released three custom Fortnite maps: Doc Seismic Attacks (Island Code: 3557-7311-4157), GDA Combat Training (Island Code: 0574-8268-1828), and Rise of the Sequids (Island Code: 6860-5764-7093).
