Arc B770

Sometimes it feels as if Intel isn't confident in the product, which keeps the Arc B770 from seeing a retail launch.

BMG-G31 Firmware Leaked In Intel Driver Package, But Whereabouts Of Arc B770 Remain Unknown

I think there is no "rumored" GPU that we have talked about the most before its release than the Arc B770. A plethora of leaks and reports have already confirmed the existence of such a GPU, but Intel's plans for releasing it remain in the shadows. Even at CES, Intel simply avoided talking about it, let alone releasing it. We have tried to get more info on the Arc B770, but Intel simply evaded the question.

That said, a new Intel GPU firmware package has revealed the existence of the "BMG-G31". As reported by @Haze2K1, a Reddit user spotted the existence of BMG-G31 in the driver firmware folder, which indicates early or preliminary support for the consumer GPU variant using the BMG-G31. It's not the first time we have seen BMG-G31 mentioned in a driver, as Intel recently also added support for the chip in the VTune Profile software.

Intel itself mentioned it a few times on official social handles, but later retracted the statement. That said, the whereabouts of the Arc B770 or any other BMG-G31-based GPU are unknown. According to a previous leak, it's expected that the BMG-G31 will end up in both consumer and pro variants, and that basically establishes the possibility of having the Arc B770 in the market. However, Intel doesn't seem very interested in talking about it, and neither shared any plans on when gamers can expect it in the market.

It has been a year since we saw the first Battlemage discrete GPUs launch, and there are just two consumer GPUs available for gamers. The Arc B580 or the Arc B570, unfortunately, don't address the mid-range market and the Arc B770 could be a viable solution, considering it will not only have a stronger chip, but will also bring a higher VRAM capacity of 16 GB.
