Intel Arc Battlemage "BMG-G31" GPU Recieves Brand New Support By The Chipmaker Itself, Is Big Battlemage Finally Ready For Launch? 1

Intel might have teased us with its upcoming "Big Battlemage" Arc GPU in its AI Playground utility, packing an impressive 32 GB VRAM.

Intel Arc GPU With 32 GB Memory Spotted Within AI Playground v3.0.0 Guide, Could Be The Hotly Anticipated "Big Battlemage"

Intel has released the v3.0.0 of its AI Playground software utility (Alpha), adding brand new features and support that will be optimized for its Arc GPU family, especially the upcoming Panther Lake lineup based on the Xe3 architecture. But while the software update should be the highlight, it looks like Intel might've kept a surprise hidden in the User's Guide.

As spotted by @Haze2K1, the guide lists an unnamed Arc GPU with 32 GB of VRAM or memory capacity. The GPU was used to generate an AI image of a Panther rocking a necklace that has the "12Xe" logo. We know that Intel hasn't released any 32 GB GPU within its Arc A-series or B-series family, with the capacity maxing out at 24 GB for the Arc Pro B60, and 48 GB for the dual-die solutions.

So it looks like someone at Intel, who had access to a 32 GB Arc GPU, ran the software to generate the image. This could be our first look at a running sample of the Intel Big Battlemage graphics card based on the BMG-G31 GPU. The GPU is expected to feature a 256-bit bus interface, so it would yield either 16 GB or 32 GB models.

With at least four SKUs in the works, it could be possible that consumer gaming variants sport 16 GB VRAM while PRO offerings feature the higher 32 GB capacity. But in the case Intel plans to offer limited edition gaming models with 32 GB VRAM, that would be nice, and match the VRAM of the current fastest graphics card, the RTX 5090 from NVIDIA.

There's another possibility, however; Intel has a shared GPU memory override option within its graphics software. This can allocate a custom amount of system memory to the GPU. It is possible that a Panther Lake laptop with 64 GB or higher memory could be sharing 32 GB of its memory pool with the GPU, but that is something we can't say for sure. It is entirely plausible, however.

Even if this isn't the Big Battlemage Arc GPU that everyone is excited to see, it is clear that Intel is working on an Arc GPU update around the BMG-G31 chip. Several new support has been added in recent months, and with CES 2026 closing in, we should anticipate an update from Intel since that is most likely going to be the only major GPU update for the first half of 2026.
