Intel Arrow Lake-S Refresh CPUs Confirmed: Coming To LGA 1851 & 800-Series Motherboard Platforms 1

Intel's next CPUs, the Arrow Lake Refresh lineup, are set for a 'technical' showcase on March 17, focusing on giving consumers a rundown on what to expect.

Intel Intends to Target Arrow Lake Refresh for 1080p-Class Performance, Likely Staying Limited to Mainstream SKUs

For those unaware, Team Blue plans to launch a new CPU lineup this year, but it won't be a massive overhaul; rather, it will be a refresh. The Arrow Lake Refresh launch has been discussed several times in the past, and it appears Intel is now gearing up for a showcase on March 17. Based on official material shared by @momomo_us, it appears that Intel will feature the desktop-focused Core Ultra 200S Plus CPUs, along with the mobile Core Ultra 200HX Plus SKUs, in the coming days. The technical announcement will be made by Robert Hallock, Intel's VP of Client Computing, to boost consumer appeal.

Refresh lineups have worked for Intel in the past; one prime example is the Raptor Lake series, which saw strong initial traction but later faced instability issues. However, with Arrow Lake Refresh, Intel expects to compete in the desktop CPU segment once again, aiming to make up for the mistakes it made with the original lineup. According to Intel's announcement, it appears that the focus with ARL-Refresh would be towards "1080p performance", offering "significant gains" in multitasking. For now, we will wait to see what Intel brings on board, but expect all techniques to be used to pitch the newer lineup to gamers.

The Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus (Arrow Lake Refresh) offers new mechanical features that boost performance in full 1080p gameplay and deliver significant gains in multitasking. During this session, Robert Hallock, Intel's VP of Client Computing will review the technical enhancements for the Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Series Processors and will provide a completive analysis, as well as will share an outlook for North America Channel.

We have already covered the Core Ultra 200S Plus CPUs in depth here, but for a quick rundown, the lineup features revamped Core Ultra 9, Ultra 7, and Ultra 5 models. We have seen several SKUs surface in the past for the Core Ultra 200S series, but it appears that the upcoming launch will focus on four different models, which include the Core Ultra 9 290K Plus, Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, and Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus. However, if Intel's focus is on 1080p performance, we could see higher-end SKUs canceled entirely, with Team Blue hoping to capture the mainstream segment's attention.

Reviews for ARL-Refresh CPUs will go live on March 23, but only the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, and Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus will be featured. Details about the retail launch aren't certain, but we could expect it to happen either by the end of this month or the first week of April.
