To fix the annoying audio glitch on the MSI Claw 8 handheld, Intel has finally rolled out a new graphics driver.
No More Audio Glitches on Claw 8 AI+ Handheld as Intel Delivers Another Graphics Driver Update
A few days back, Intel's Arc Graphics driver 32.0.101.6874 caused an audio bug, which was affecting both audio delivery and, in some cases, performance downgrade on handhelds like MSI Claw 8 AI+. Since the issue is specific to Core Ultra Series 2 processors, only Claw 8 AI+ and 7 AI+ were affected by this.
Users reported audio glitches, which were quite annoying, and the only thing that could have fixed the issue was rolling back to a previous driver. Intel itself suggested rolling back to the 6795 driver in a community post. Some users did manage to get it fixed by disabling the Intel AI Boost, but for others, nothing helped.
The issue also affected the handhelds to such an extent that users were seeing 100% CPU usage and longer loading times. While Intel's workaround fix did help some of them, Intel just released its latest graphics driver to fix the bug permanently. Intel's Arc Graphics 32.0.101.6877 apparently fixes the issue as spotted in the release notes:
Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 2 with built-in Intel® Arc™ GPUs:
▪ Certain handheld devices may experience audio glitches and lower than expected performance while audio is playing.
Hopefully, this should mitigate the problem, and we recommend that Claw 7/8 handheld users download the latest driver. Users who are running the previous Claw 7 handheld with a Meteor Lake processor don't need to worry, since this only affects Core Ultra Series 2-based handhelds, and currently, the MSI Claw 7/8 AI+ is the only device to use such a CPU. You can find all the release notes of the latest Arc Graphics driver 32.0.101.6877 on Intel's website and can download the driver from here.
