Shawn begins his role from May this year, and the important part is that Shawn Han was previously at Samsung Foundry. He has three years of expertise within the Semiconductor industry and is known for overseeing sales at Samsung Foundry.

As Intel Foundry continues its focus on strong, customer‑driven execution, I’m excited to welcome Shawn (Seung Hoon) Han to our leadership team. Shawn will be joining us in May as senior vice president and general manager of Foundry Services, reporting to me.

Shawn brings valuable expertise in the semiconductor industry from his three decades at Samsung, including most recently overseeing sales at Samsung Foundry. He also offers impressive technical acumen from his work on multiple logic process nodes beginning in 1996.

Shawn’s leadership will be an important addition to our team, and he is joining at an exciting time as we continue to execute on process technology, advanced packaging, and our overall foundry capabilities. Welcome to Intel Foundry Shawn!

This gives us a hint at what role Shawn Han will have at Intel Foundry. Given that Intel has been working really hard to secure brand new deals, and has been in overdrive mode to market & showcase its latest advanced packaging technologies, we are likely to see leaders like Shawn at Intel to get new customers in the play for Intel Foundry.

Additionally, Shawn has also worked on multiple logic process nodes, beginning all the way back in 1996. So, quite an impressive portfolio for Shawn right there. So this looks like a big win for Intel to not only get an expert from its competing Foundry, but also to double down on its Foundry business as they continue to execute on process technology, advanced packaging, and overall foundry capabilities.
