Intel's "China-exclusive" Core Ultra 5 230F has finally surfaced online, giving us the first look at the processor and the "official" rundown of specifications.
Intel Will Continue The "China-Specific" CPU Series With Arrow Lake-S, Starts With The Core Ultra 5 230F
Team Blue's Arrow Lake-S lineup will indeed have SKUs that will be limited to Chinese markets only, following the trend of previous-gen releases. Such models are primarily intended to cater to the domestic markets and are mostly "F" variants, which come without any iGPU onboard. Similarly, MyDrivers has showcased Intel's Core Ultra 5 230F, revealing the model's specifications, the new "exclusive" packaging, and the IHS design.
Starting with the specifications, Intel's Core Ultra 5 230F features a 10-core layout, with six P-Cores and four E-Cores, coming in with a maximum turbo frequency of 5.0 GHz, credit to the performance cores onboard. Along with this, the processor comes with a TDP of 65W, along with a 24 MB cache. You can place this model in the mid-range market segment since it comes with a good spot in the Core Ultra 5 lineup, although this variant will be limited to only Chinese markets.
This particular model is pretty consistent in terms of the onboard specifications of other counterparts in the Arrow Lake-S lineup, but Intel has only switched up the core clock speeds and cache size, which is likely to provide a more appealing option to the domestic markets. There are also images of the new packaging for China-compliant ARL-S CPUs, and it looks like a mere recolor of the original box, with little to no changes apart from the SKU's name and the text written on the box.
For pricing, the Intel Core Ultra 5 230F retails at 1,999 yuan/$276 at the Chinese retailer JD, which certainly makes it one of the low-priced Arrow Lake-S SKUs out there. Whether global availability will be there is unconfirmed for now, but we often see such models end up at system integrators, so that's something to look out for.
