The most powerful discrete GPU for the workstation segment, the Battlemage, will be available this quarter.
Intel Arc Pro B70 Mentioned in LLM-Scaler vLMM Beta Release Notes, Confirming the Existence of BMG-G31-Powered Workstation GPU
We have been hearing about the BMG-G31-powered Battlemage GPUs for a while now. Even though Intel appears to have cancelled the plans for releasing the consumer variant, the workstation variants are likely coming very soon. In January, we posted two stories related to the Arc Pro B70, which is going to be the flagship Battlemage workstation GPU in the lineup. It will be more powerful than the current Arc Pro B60, which utilizes the BMG-G21 die that also powers the Arc B580 and B570.
The Arc Pro B70 was confirmed by the prominent leaker @jaykihn0, but Intel never confirmed such a GPU. However, today we are seeing the GPU model name mentioned in the open-source AI-inference framework developed by Intel called LLM-Scaler vLLM. The release notes for the latest LLM-Scaler vLLM beta have explicitly stated the "B70 System", which confirms that the workstation variant exists. While Intel hasn't announced the Arc Pro B70 from any of its social handles, this is the strongest confirmation for the GPU till now.
As far as the specifications go, the Arc Pro B70 will use the bigger BMG-G31 chip, which is expected to bring 32 Xe2 cores and 32 GB GDDR6 VRAM. According to some reports, Intel is also preparing another variant with the BMG-G31 chip called Arc Pro B65, which is going to be a cut-down workstation GPU with 20 Xe2 Cores, but will still boast 32 GB GDDR6 VRAM, which is 8 GB higher than the BMG-G21-based Arc Pro B60. This is why both the Arc Pro B70 and B65 will have a 256-bit memory interface.
We have yet to receive official details on the availability of the Arc Pro B70 and B65, though reports suggest they could launch later this quarter.
