Intel will be using two different Alchemist "Xe-LPG" iGPU architectures for its upcoming Arrow Lake-S Desktop & Arrow Lake-H Mobile line of CPUs.
Intel Alchemist "Xe-LPG" iGPUs Return For Arrow Lake CPUs: Desktop Gets Standard While Mobile Gets LPG+ Architecture
Intel's Arrow Lake CPUs are expected to launch later this year and will be the direct follow-up to both Meteor Lake & Raptor Lake for the respective platforms. The Arrow Lake-S CPUs will target desktops and replace the 13th/14th Gen Raptor Lake lineup on a brand new LGA 1851 platform while the Arrow Lake-H CPUs will target mobile and replace the Meteor Lake-H & Raptor Lake-H family.
The Intel Arrow Lake CPUs will ship with another major upgrade to the CPU and GPU architecture. The CPU side will include new Lion Cove P-Cores and Crestmont/Skymont E/LP-E Cores while the integrated GPU will see the return of the Alchemist Xe-LPG architecture though the mobile side is going to have an advantage over the desktop side.
Currently, AMD has the fastest desktop iGPU solution in the market with the launch of its Ryzen 8000G APUs which feature the RDNA 3 graphics architecture and deliver performance comparable to some of the most popular entry-level discrete GPUs such as the GTX 1650 series. With its Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs, we can see Intel try to achieve a similar performance boost though one thing to consider is that "S" SKUs usually feature way fewer GPU cores than the mobile parts.
Looking at the current lineup, we see Intel using 32 EUs on its 14th Gen SKUs versus the 96 EUs on mobile SKUs so if a similar plan is laid out for Arrow Lake, it's performance might not reach the same level as AMD's RNDA 3 iGPUs however it will still be a nice bump from the previous UHD 770 iGPU.
Some SKUs of Arrow Lake use a slightly newer Xe_LPG+ graphics IP (version 12.74). Add some additional PCI IDs and extend the code to support this newer IP version. The general code flow should continue to match existing MTL and Xe_LPG code paths.

On the mobile side, Intel is expected to go a notch ahead with its newer and optimized "Xe-LPG+" architecture which will be incorporated within the Arrow Lake-H CPUs. The latest updates for the Intel C for Metal compiler spotted by Coelacanth's Dream have revealed that the new Alchemist+ iGPU is going to be part of the Arrow Lake-H lineup. Little is known about the improvements that Xe-LPG+ brings to the table but one of the new additions is going to be support for DPAS or (Dot Product Accumulate Systolic) which essentially supports matrix multiple and accumulation. There have also been reports on the addition of XMX hardware in Xe-LPG+ iGPUs for accelerated XeSS support.
Once again, the first wave of Intel Arrow Lake CPUs for desktops and notebooks will hit later this year alongside Lunar Lake while the remaining lineup is expected for early 2025.
